How to get in touch with our team
We believe that young people are part of the solution to improving disadvantaged areas. We help them to participate in their local communities and provide a range of positive activities, building confidence and self-esteem.
Through work with schools and other agencies, we support ‘at risk’ young people, providing them with positive experiences and building the skills that will allow them to move forwards with education or training. We also give young people opportunities to take part in training, volunteering, apprenticeships and work experience placements.
The House Youth Centre St Austell Cornwall
The House is a pioneering, aspirational initiative to transform youth provision in St Austell. The town is the largest conurbation in Cornwall, but until Groundwork began working there in 2007 through the Youth Works programme, there had been no youth work provision and no youth centre for over 15 years.
Through a strong partnership with Restormel Borough Council (now Cornwall Council), a disused building was secured to become St Austell’s first dedicated Youth Centre in 15 years. The building has been totally refurbished and comprises a social meeting space, top of the range kitchen area, internet suite, one to one room and office space.
Come and join us at The House, Carlyon Road, St Austell (next to the Polkyth Leisure Centre).
