Groundwork manages and takes part in a number of major initiatives regionally and nationally. Initiatives like these mean we can join up many local projects, helping to share ‘what works’ and make more of an impact on the ground. It also often means helping other organisations and learning from their successes.
The power of using ‘the arts’ as part of a community-based, space transformation project, became apparent through our involvement with various artists in the Saltmill Park project in Saltash, Cornwall.
Projects supported under our Spaces for Sports (South West) Programme, have ranged from a bowling green in Hayle to a multi-use games area in Wiltshire, and from sports development activities in Gloucester to wheeled-sports sites (skate boarding, skating, BMX cycling etc.) across Cornwall.
We work alongside communities, public bodies, private companies and voluntary sector organisations.
