Improving Open Spaces

Our landscape designers and project managers’ work with people to create or improve community gardens, parks, play areas, footpaths and natural spaces. These spaces are vital to our everyday quality of life, but are often neglected and may attract misuse. They need to be well designed, made relevant to the needs of local people – and be beautiful havens for wildlife.

Our Green Teams maintain, manage and improve large and small areas of green space and countryside, across the South West. Our Green Teams operate with skilled, experienced Team Supervisor, supported by a variety of volunteers, apprentices and people on welfare-to-work programmes.

We also help to create activities to put land back to use, for example for community sports, food growing or practical conservation activities.

The spaces which we improve and maintain range from small, urban, neighbourhood ‘pocket’ parks to large, rural, nature reserves.
